🌿Milly’s “The Flu Can F*ck Off” Brew🌿
I’ve come down with the flu and this is what I’m drinking to help keep the symptoms at bay:
🍋 Add a tablespoon of honey to hot water, stir to dissolve (soothes sore throats).
🍋 Add 1/3 of a lemon’s juice, stir to combine (high in vitamins, boosts immune systems).
🍋 Take a small sprig of thyme and let it steep in the mug (known for ability to fight colds and flus).
🍋 You can witchy it up like I did by thanking the ingredients, asking a deity for their blessing or imbuing the brew with healing, strengthening intentions.
I recommend drinking hot and inhaling the steam to clear your airways. Stay healthy this change of seasons, lovelies!
[always do your own research regarding health benefits and allergens- your safety is most important]
Witch Tip: Budget Edition
If you’re on a budget (who isn’t?), here are some tips that you (hopefully) haven’t heard 1000 times:
- learn to propagate your plants. Pinterest and YouTube are great resources. No need to buy more if you can just keep growing what you have (bonus tip: look for the specific plant you’re propagating).
- put herbs and salt in a coffee filter and tie it off with a rubber band, twist tie, or string and use them in your bath. You don’t need a fancy bag (and have no mess to clean.) You can also use coffee filters to make rainwater safe - just boil the water first!
- join a local pagan/witchcraft Facebook group and initiate a barter/swap program. I have a friend from high school that hosts a clothes swap twice a year in her home. It’s fun to get rid of my old stuff, get “new” stuff and have wine while catching up with people I haven’t seen in months. It can work for witch supplies too. (As always, be safe.)
- research the plants in your area and their correspondences. Witchcraft existed for thousands of years before Amazon Prime 2-Day Shipping. If they didn’t have access to dragon’s blood resin or kava kava, they used a local replacement and you should too.
- okay, so you probably have seen this one often but it just emphasizes its importance: use the library. Seriously. You won’t end up spending money on a book you only need 2 pages from or, worse, use nothing from. (Closeted witch? Take pictures of the pages you need and copy them into your grimoire.)
- never forget that you manipulate the energy of the universe. The supplies just help. Witchcraft is entirely possible without any special tools or ingredients
when someone fucks you over, don’t you dare ask yourself, “what did i do to deserve this?” NOTHING. you didn’t do shit. someone taking advantage of your kindness will never be your fault.
